State benefits

State Veteran’s Benefits:

Public Employee Veteran’s Hiring Preference:  Veterans who qualify may receive an additional preference for public jobs, but it does not guarantee a job.  Please talk to the VSO or check out our link to determine if you are eligible for this benefit.

Veterans Specialty License Plates:  Veterans and Gold Star Families may be able to purchase specialty license plates to commemorate their service and service-related awards.

Idaho State Veteran’s Homes:  Veterans or their spouses who qualify may be eligible for admission to one of three skilled nursing facilities in the State of Idaho for veterans.  Please talk to the VSO or check out our link to determine if you are eligible for this benefit.

Financial Assistance:  Wartime veterans may be eligible for a grant of up to $1,000.00 for an extreme emergency.  To see if you qualify for this grant, please talk to the VSO or check out our link.

Reduced Hunting and Fishing License Fees:  Disabled veterans may be eligible for a reduced fee for hunting or fishing licenses whether they are residents or nonresidents.  Please talk to the VSO to see if you qualify for this benefit.
